Custom Business Tools

Custom tools for businesses that outgrew spreadsheets

When jobs, schedules, and billing live in different places, I build one tool around how the work actually gets done.

From $4,000 · Management from $150/month, quoted by scope

Who this helps

  • A business running on spreadsheets, sticky notes, and someone's memory
  • A team retyping the same details into several places
  • An owner who has tried off-the-shelf software and keeps working around it

Problems it solves

  • The same job is in five places

One record can carry a request from customer to calendar to invoice, so nobody has to retype it.

  • You can't see what needs attention

A dashboard can show new requests, today's work, and what's waiting on whom.

  • Different people need different views

Staff, partners, and customers can each get accounts and views suited to what they do.

What’s included

  • Customer and job records
  • Staff scheduling
  • Operational dashboards
  • Appointment workflows
  • Billing workflows
  • Connected business processes

These are examples. Each tool is scoped and quoted on its own. Outside software is additional.

How it works

  1. We talk through the business and what would actually help.
  2. You get a written scope and a fixed quote.
  3. You sign and pay a 50% deposit, and I get to work.
  4. I build it, and you tell me what to adjust.
  5. You approve the finished work and pay the balance, and it goes live.

Questions

How do I know if I need custom software?
If an existing product can do the job with reasonable changes to how you work, it's usually the better buy, and I'll tell you so. Custom makes sense when the way you work is the part you can't change.
Why does it start at $4,000?
Accounts, records, and permissions take real work to get right. We scope the smallest version that would actually help, and you get a fixed quote before work begins.
Who owns it, and what happens at handoff?
Your written scope and agreement spell this out, so you know before you sign.
Do I need ongoing management?
Management is quoted by scope from $150 a month. Your proposal spells out who handles what if you'd rather run it yourself.
